Freedom Park is a canvas for extraordinary experiences. Through sculptural art forms, immersive storytelling, and temporal installations, the park aims to connect with visitors in unforgettable and meaningful ways.

Dwelling

Dwelling starts as a line drawing and leads us to an exploration of Atlanta’s lost landscapes. Abandoned stoops, broken sidewalks, historic markers, trails, and Freedom Park’s natural features unfold and invite you to dwell on the history of this place and engage with the site through your own imagination.

Jane's Walk

This annual international festival of free, citizen and community-led walking conversations inspired by urban activist Jane Jacobs has been re-imagined for 2020! The COVID-19 outbreak and unfolding response have dramatically reshaped our original vision for Jane’s Walk ATL programming.

ELDER

ELDER is a site-specific public art project that captures the ongoing legacy of nature, history, and citizen-led advocacy associated with Freedom Park. ELDER honors the senior members of the Old Fourth Ward community — both the people and the trees — for their stability, witnessing, and role in providing a foundation for future generations.

Freedom Park is a place for natural respite within the city. With a focus on the enhancement of the natural environment, the park becomes a medium for better living.
